ROHEMA was founded in 1888 in Markneukirchen, a city known for music in the state of Saxony, eastern Germany (the company name is derived from the initials of its founder, Robert Eduard Hellinger in Markneukirchen). Starting with the production of drumsticks and conductor's batons, the company now also produces instruments such as hand percussion.
