Description
A brazier made of karakane (copper alloy) from the Meiji to Showa periods.
● Made by Kanaya Gorosaburo
(A renowned metalworking family founded in Kyoto during the Kanei era. The founder was a descendant of the samurai Ando of the Toyotomi family, who developed the techniques for coloring metals in緋銅色 (hido-iro) and 黄銅色 (kodo-iro), and established the business name as Kinka.
Later, the third generation began producing tea ceremony utensils and various tools, and the seventh generation established a workshop, industrializing production.
The name was changed from Kinka to Kanaya during the ninth generation, and it continues to the present day.)

Can be used as an antique decorative item or practically with ash and charcoal.
The wooden base at the bottom prevents direct heat transfer to tatami mats or other surfaces.
Approximately 23 cm in diameter and 19 cm in height.

It was actually used until about 70 years ago and has been stored at home long-term since then, so there are signs of dirt and rust.
