Kawabata Kinza
The Kawabata family originated from Shiga Prefecture.
They ran an oil shop in Kyoto, and it is said that while managing the family business, they were also connoisseurs of haiku and Japanese painting.
Lacquerware, in which they had a strong interest, eventually became their family business.
