●I am severely nearsighted and have collected many pairs of glasses because of it. I purchased this flip-up frame several decades ago, and it does not have lenses. It is brand new and unused.
●Flip-up frames in a slightly smaller size are very rare. I found this one after a long search and purchased it decades ago.
●The brand is unknown.
●The plastic parts appear almost black, but they could also be interpreted as a very dark brown. It's difficult to say definitively whether it's black or a very dark brown close to black. Please judge the color from the photos.
●The metal parts are silver in color. The material of the metal has the texture of Sun Platinum (SPM), which was popular in the Showa era and also used in dental treatments. However, the engraving is very small and unclear, so I cannot be certain. (Please note that Sun Platinum is different from Platinum, so do not misunderstand.)
●The size is as shown in the photos, but according to the generally accepted frame sizing, there is a notation of 48. Recently, larger glasses have become popular, and as an enthusiast of smaller glasses, I have had difficulty acquiring them. The average size for Japanese men is said to be 50-54, so 48 is a bit small. Many women might also find this size suitable.
●As it is now, it is a new item before fitting, so it will not be comfortable to wear. However, if you take it to an optician, have lenses fitted, and adjusted to your face and ears, it will fit perfectly.
●The overall construction is sturdy, and the flip-up mechanism opens straight up (up to 90 degrees from the lens).
●The screw threads in each part are in beautiful condition as shown in the photos. Additionally, the shape of the flathead screw heads, their color, luster, and texture, as well as the now-rare star-shaped nuts, are full of retro charm. These types of screws are also rare nowadays, so I recommend applying a small amount of screw lock (similar to a weak adhesive like Aron Alpha) to the tips of the screws and nuts to prevent loosening.
