This is a fishing method recommended for those who are already satisfied with their current fishing style and for those who have some experience with fly fishing.
It's a fishing method that can change your perspective on fly fishing in a way.
That being said, the way you drift the fly is the same. The only difference is whether you cast upstream and the fly floats or sinks.
You can detect bites by watching for changes in the line, similar to myaku-tsuri (line-watching fishing).
With wet flies, drifting downstream is also an effective technique.
You can entice fish by letting the fly cross points or by sinking or floating it depending on your technique.
It's a fishing experience with a different feel than sight fishing.
