This is a Sanxian from Amami Oshima with strings attached.
It is made with genuine leather and has excellent sound response and sustain.

Purchased new in 2012 from Fukumori-do, a specialty store in Amami Oshima
(Purchase price: approximately 120,000 yen).
This is a handcrafted Sanxian, not a mass-produced item.
At the time of purchase, I was told the wood for the neck was ebony.

In recent years, it has become difficult to obtain high-quality wood, and prices have soared.
I believe Sanxians made with materials from that era are becoming rare.

[Condition & Maintenance]

- There are minor scratches from use, but they do not affect playability.
- All scratches are described in the photos and text.
- There are no tears or peeling on the genuine leather parts.
- The genuine leather is in good condition.
- The tuning pegs had become loose, so I sent it to Fukumori-do, the specialty store in Amami Oshima where I purchased it,
to have the tuning pegs replaced and the entire instrument repaired and adjusted.
(It is currently in perfect working order.)
- The decorative cover (Dōmaki) has been replaced with one made of rare snakeskin.

*The price has been set considering the condition, age, ebony wood (as described at purchase),
repairs and adjustments by a specialty store, material availability, non-mass-produced nature,
accessories, and the snakeskin cover. Therefore, we will not accept price reduction negotiations
based on the reasons stated above.

This Shamisen was cherished due to my mother, who is from Amami and loved folk songs.
I would be happy if it finds a new owner who plays Amami folk songs.
