Traditional Oshie Hagoita Set (2 pieces)

This is a set of Oshie Hagoita (traditional decorative paddles) featuring Dojoji and Fuji Musume (Wisteria Maiden) from Japanese dance.

The Dojoji is by Kyugetsu, featuring an elegant face, beautiful decorations, and a black lacquered frame.

The Fuji Musume shows some overall deterioration (deterioration on the corner in photo 10, stains on the hand in photo 11), and the wisteria branches and flowers have come off. However, the face is lovely and the costume is vibrant.

These are two performance pieces from the movie Kokuhō (National Treasure).

There is no original box or stand.

They were covered in cellophane and stored at home for many years. The cellophane was heavily soiled, so it has been replaced.

While both pieces appear vibrant at first glance, the effects of age are undeniable. They will be shipped in a recycled box with cushioning material.
