This is a directly handwritten fan by Matsuo Michi, the 11th generation head of the Matsuo School of Tea Ceremony, who is also the younger sister of the 10th generation head, Fuzensai. The fan was made by a specialized fan shop in Nagoya City.

The brown spots you see are part of the Japanese paper's pattern.

This item was passed down to a relative through a zaibatsu family who had a close relationship with the Matsuo School.
