Some items have been cut, sanded, and smoothed. These processes enhance texture, improve appearance, and remove wood chips, dust, and protrusions, offering many benefits. We strive to remove the negative aspects of driftwood as much as possible.

Selection, pruning, light processing

Leaching (minimum 1 month / with water changes)
Why is leaching essential? For example, some types of driftwood, after leaching, are found to be of insufficient quality for listing (approximately 40% by feel) and are discarded. The remaining 60% turn out to be excellent. Since the true quality cannot be determined without leaching, we state that it is a mandatory step.

Sorting/Washing of driftwood that has sunk during leaching

Drying (short period of sun drying / followed by shade drying)
Reason: To prevent sunburn marks from leaching from reappearing.
