This is a personal project.

I wanted to see if I could turn an old Schefflera with a look I personally like into a bonsai, so I planted it in a small pot. I'm doing this for my own satisfaction, hoping someone else might find it interesting.

Schefflera is now produced in various places like Okinawa, and recently, series with aerial roots and compact, slightly bonsai-like styles have become more common. The series I'm offering this time features truly old Schefflera. I've gathered specimens with natural movement, without forcing any bends. Some have rugged bark, roots, and even hollows. You might be surprised to find Schefflera like this! The key points are small and old.

It's planted in a shallow pot, about 4 inches in size.
I started by rooting it with sphagnum moss, so the roots haven't fully spread into the soil yet.
I've replaced the soil with a good mix and added some base fertilizer, so I recommend keeping it in this pot for a while.
It's very resilient, and I expect the roots to establish well within about two weeks!

Currently, it's managed in almost direct sunlight!
