This half-lined juban was made from a new-old-stock pure silk juban fabric that has been washed once. The sleeves are half-lined. The color is slightly pinker than in the photos. Although not visible as it is sewn in, there are some damages to the selvedge, and a small blackish line of about 5mm on the lower part of the sleeve. There may be other damages, but the fabric has a wonderful drape and an exceptionally smooth feel against the skin. It is made using a combination of machine and hand sewing. Since it has been washed once, it is unlikely to shrink significantly if washed again, but we cannot guarantee this.
If you choose to wash it, please fold it into a small net and use a hand-wash cycle. Please do so at your own risk. We recommend using a gentle detergent for delicate fabrics, such as Emal or other neutral detergents. It may feel stiff after washing, but ironing will restore its drape.
*Velcro fasteners are not sewn on as their placement may vary depending on the manufacturer of the usotsuki juban (a type of under-juban).
*We can include two free white Velcro fasteners (sewing type), 2cm x 20cm each, upon request. Please indicate whether you would like the Velcro fasteners included or not when purchasing.
If you would like the Velcro fasteners sewn on, we will attach the hook side (the rough side) in 4 places, each 2cm x 3cm. In rare cases, some juban may have the hook side attached to the juban itself. If you inform us of this, we can attach the loop side (the soft side) to the sleeves.
Pattern A: 2cm and 14cm from the sleeve head (e.g., Kirakku)
Pattern B: 3cm and 12cm from the sleeve head (e.g., Kyōetsu Usotsuki Han-juban)
