This is a Ko-Iga style ear-handled vase by Kosei Imura (Mitsuo).
My grandmother purchased this at a solo exhibition many years ago.
It has only been displayed and admired, so I believe it is in beautiful condition. The wooden box has been discarded and is not included.
This ear-handled vase showcases the bold craftsmanship characteristic of Ko-Iga style, with the powerful firing unique to the artist Kosei Imura (Mitsuo).
The glaze applied to the entire body has a compelling thickness and flow, creating a deep expression reminiscent of natural glaze scenery.
The rugged texture of the clay and the substantial glaze harmonize beautifully, creating a piece that exudes an overwhelming presence as a floor decoration.
