This is a work by Onzo Ishihara, a ceramic artist who graduated from the Tajimi Pottery Design Research Institute and is currently gaining attention from gallery professionals.

Mr. Ishihara is an artist based in Toki City, Gifu Prefecture. Although his name and style often lead people to mistake him for an older artist, he is in his 20s and is considered a young rising star.

Mr. Ishihara describes his creative process as similar to writing in a diary, creating ceramic works from fragments of scenery he has seen somewhere, sometime. Everyday, nameless things become abstract over time, and through a simplification of form that goes beyond crudeness, they acquire a narrative quality.

Among Mr. Ishihara's works, pieces that extend upwards to create height, like this one, are very rare, and I believe this is a particularly unusual piece. It almost feels like a small architectural structure, and it's a shame that it cannot be fully conveyed through photographs, but the color, texture, and form are truly beautiful and wonderful.

As mentioned above, the reputation among discerning gallery professionals is quite high, and it is highly likely that opportunities to purchase his works will decrease in the future, or that their value will increase.

I also own other works by Mr. Ishihara and am very fond of his unique style, but as I have accumulated too many items, I would like to pass it on to someone who will cherish it.
