Isasumi Shrine (いさすみじんじゃ) is located in Aizu, Onuma District, Fukushima Prefecture.

It is an ancient shrine also recorded in the Kojiki, with its founding believed to be around 2,000 years ago during the reign of the 10th Emperor, Sujin. It is said to have originated when Ohikonomikoto, dispatched to pacify the region, and his son Takemunnakawakenomikoto enshrined Izanagi and Izanami at Mikagura-dake, near the border of Fukushima and Niigata prefectures, as deities to protect the nation.

According to the Engishiki, it is a shrine of the Myojin-Taisha class and is known as the Second Shrine of Mutsu Province. Its former rank was Kokuhei Chusha.
In the Heisei era, it was certified as the First Shrine of Iwashiro Province by the National First Shrine Association.

Isasumi Shrine is known for its blessings in areas such as protection from bad directions, business prosperity, prayers for abundant harvests, warding off evil and bringing good fortune, and matchmaking. Due to its considerable power as the Grand Guardian of the Eight Directions in the Tohoku region, it comprehensively covers all aspects including directions, geomancy, house layout, auspicious dates, unlucky years, and star cycles (Nine Star Astrology).
