Description
Men's Haori by Junshi Ogura, Member of the Japan Traditional Crafts Association, Shibori Dyeing / Tsujigahana, Ginza Motohashi

The Ogura family revived Tsujigahana, a legendary dyeing technique that flourished in the Azuchi-Momoyama period and mysteriously disappeared in the Edo period. Junshi Ogura, inheriting his father Kenryo's aspirations, has created a new world as the Heisei Tsujigahana living in the modern era. He was first selected for the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition at the age of 29. Recognized for his solid techniques and design prowess, he is a leading figure in Tsujigahana dyeing, responsible for various restoration projects, including the haori and kosode of Tokugawa Ieyasu, which are housed in the Tokugawa Art Museum and the Kyoto National Museum.
