Pearlette Camera Junk
Pearlette
This is a bellows camera manufactured by Roku-sha, the predecessor of camera maker Konica. It was released in 1929 or 1930.
It is a copy of the Piccolette, a bellows camera produced by the pre-war German company Contessa-Nettel (one of the parent companies of Zeiss Ikon).
The gold frame on the front panel becomes a viewfinder when raised. The lens attached to the center of this gold frame is an attachment lens used in front of the main lens for close-up photography.
However! The main lens is missing!
Film is also unavailable. Light-tightness of the bellows has not been checked.
The viewfinder has mold, and its movement is questionable.
Also, it may not be in its original condition from its release, and some parts may have been repaired or replaced.
Therefore,
Please consider this purely for decorative or display purposes.
The case is engraved with Piccolette, and the button is engraved with NETTEL. It is possible that this case was originally for the Piccolette, but its authenticity is unknown.
Please purchase with the understanding that this is a no-claim, no-return item.
