Types of Hakama
There are generally two main types of hakama:
Umamori-bakama, which are split into two legs inside, and Andon-bakama, which are completely cylindrical.

Umamori-bakama
These were worn by samurai as riding hakama during the Edo period.
They are split into two legs like culottes and are designed for easy horseback riding.

Andon-bakama
These have no inner divider (gusset) and are shaped like a skirt. They are simpler in construction compared to Umamori-bakama and are said to have been common fashion in the late Edo period. They are often associated with formal occasions such as weddings and funerals.

Hakama fabric is used for men's, women's, and children's hakama and is available in silk, polyester, and wool. Silk is mainly produced for men's hakama, with the famous striped pattern being Sendai-hira, used for formal wear. Other fabrics include Yonezawa-hira, Gosen-hira, and plain fabrics such as Omeshi and Tsumugi.

There are no noticeable stains or spots, but there is a faint, small stain on the lower back hip area. Otherwise, it is in good condition overall.

The dimensions are on the larger side.
