Oboe Reed (Cantabile) for Beginners

The Cantabile finished oboe reed is completely handmade.
To accommodate your preferences as much as possible, such as weight and personal taste,
we create each reed from raw material after receiving your order.
Therefore, it may take up to 3 weeks for shipping (though it may be sooner).

This reed is designed for beginners who are still developing their embouchure and blowing technique.
It is made to be playable without excessive concern for embouchure, while still producing a pleasant sound rather than a harsh one.

We have used recycled tubes to keep the price down. (This is why it is listed as near unused, although the reed itself is, of course, unused.) We initially offered them at ¥1400 per reed to encourage you to try them. However, due to rising material costs, there has been a ¥200 price increase effective October 15, 2022.

The material of the cane varies from reed to reed, so the playing feel and tone will naturally differ slightly.
We believe purchasing a set of 2-3 reeds offers a good variety to explore, but you are also welcome to try one first and then reorder if you are interested.

To ensure the reed lasts and remains clean (as it is made to prevent air leaks), we do not wrap it with tape.
