This is tie no.11 by Soh Souen.
It is a piece created by taking a friend's portrait photo, converting it to pixels, and then enlarging it to create a blank space for each pixel, drawing it in a dot-like fashion. It utilizes the perceptual structure where the viewer integrates the seemingly incomplete color fields to perceive a person, thereby presenting the idea that self is an aggregate and highlighting the fragility and uncertainty of selfhood.
This is a limited edition of 100 pieces, each signed and numbered by Soh Souen on the back. (The number is obscured for the buyer's privacy.)
