Tanzaku: "Wind rustles, water chills" by Yasumichi Adachi
This is a short scroll (tanzaku) used in tea ceremony.
The calligraphy reads 風颯々水冷々 (Kaze sōsō mizu reirei), written by the former Daitoku-ji head priest, Taisō Adachi.
It expresses the refreshing natural scenery of a brisk wind blowing through and clear, cool water, making it ideal as a hanging scroll for summer.
There are no major scratches or stains, but it has been stored at home.
The protective paper (photo 6) is also free of tears.
Thank you for your consideration.
