【Extremely Rare, Art Piece】
This is a men's long haori made of pure silk, believed to be from the Taisho to early Showa period.
Its most striking feature is the bold Gakuri (lining) design that covers the entire back.
The pattern, inspired by the admiration for Western culture of the time, is in the Art Deco style. It depicts typography reminiscent of modern girls, Western liquor decanters, and European posters, all rendered like a single painting.
The exterior is a chic, plain black, but this lining, visible when the haori is removed, represents the ultimate in traditional Japanese iki (chic/stylishness).
